Beware of Spoilers.
There is no Samantha, Big died, and Carrie didn’t even cry after him. What is going on!?

Okay, Samantha didn’t die. She is in London. This means there is no sex in And Just Like That. But there is masturbation. Carrie and her podcast friends talk about masturbation. Sadly, the last thing Carrie asked Big was about masturbation. Then he died.

Big dies during Lily’s perfect performance of Moonlight sonata of Beethoven which symbolizes that things will get darker from that point. It was the peak, the perfection of everything. Then everything starts to go darker. We see everyone merges with their opposite. Or should I say their shadow or dark side?

Carrie goes back to being single. She becomes friends with a woman who hasn’t found love even though she is 50-something. She is Carrie’s shadow.

Miranda goes back to school, and becomes friends with a woman who can’t get pregnant. She is Miranda’s shadow.

Charlotte, as a vanilla and Jew, tries to be very good friends with a black woman. She is Charlotte’s shadow. You might have noticed that none of these 3 women is white.
They all merged with their opposite. This whole season was about becoming one. But what about love? What about the “other” opposite?

When Big died, Carrie was wearing her wedding shoes. His death was another level of their marriage. A merging on a soul level. That’s why Carrie never cried. They become one. The opposites, man and the women become one.

Miranda falls in love with a "non-binary" person. This is a symbol of being whole in oneself.

Charlotte’s daughter embraces her masculine side and becomes "Rock" which is a symbol of becoming whole.
And after all, masturbation is a solo performance. That’s why there is no Samantha who likes the act of two. People they have sex with are their own dark side. Samantha represents the relationship with the other. This season is about becoming whole in themselves.
